The show took place on the afternoon of Sunday 20th September 2009 at The Stadium Club in Kings Heath. Everyone who appeared gave their services free and all proceeds went to MacMillan Cancer Support. Pictures of the event can be seen on the 'Gallery Page'

A lot of effort by many people was put into making the day a resounding success! There were lots of donated items and long time friend of The Fortunes Bob Hill, commissioned a very elaborate and expensive box which was decorated with a hand painted enamel of Rod Allen. This was to be the 'star item' on two tables groaning under the weight of donated items. Bob & his lovely wife Julia, wanted the box to go to a fan who would really appreciate it.

It did!

Mike Gould bid a great deal of money on behalf of the Gould family, won the item and gave it to back to Bob!

The funds raised were over £8000.00 and a cheque was presented to MacMillan in November 2009.

The Fortunes would like to thank all the people who attended and all the acts who gave their time to make Rod's Memorial Day, one to remember......
